Due to USAID funding cuts and other operational challenges, some NGOs have elected to shut down their programs in Afghanistan, at least for the foreseeable future.
The Ministry of Economy (MoE) has established procedures for NGO closures, requiring organizations to submit formal requests, obtain a tax clearance certificate, conduct financial audits, and transfer remaining assets to another registered NGO or the government.
