The Law on Contracts of Ministries and Emirati Administrations, published in Official Gazette No. 1470, requires all government entities to follow four types of Islamic contracts when making agreements. These are Bay al-Salam (advance payment sale), Bay al-Taqsit (installment sale), Istisna (manufacturing by request), and Ijara (rental or lease). Any business working with a government ministry or agency should check that their contract follows one of these four approved forms.
